News and updates for the campaign for the restoration of the Barbican Mural.
THE REUBEN LENKIEWICZ RESTORATION CAMPAIGN FOR THE BARBICAN MURAL – UPDATE
Here is the BBC Devon News filmed 27/02/2018. It was a freezing day. I was interviewed by the BBC for at least an hour and a half. We talked in some depth about the campaign.
But they only have a few minutes to convey the salient points sadly.
So the most important thing I wanted to get across is that my campaign at this time is focused on:
Raising £5000 to have conservators do a feasibility study to decide what can be done.
The next stages of the campaign will then start and this could be a number of options. But this won’t be decided until the initial stage is finished.
I’m feeling very positive and this publicity is great. Thank you to Spotlight a great job.
Thank You All For Your Support.
Here is an interview I did yesterday with John Ayers for The BBC Radio Devon Gordon Spark Show. (Go to 1hr 49 minutes). There will be a further interview with myself and The Lenkiewicz Foundation on Spotlight Tonight.
Thank You All For You Help With This.

A CALL FOR HELP.
I am setting up a steering group to help with this project.
To do this I’m asking for the people of Plymouth to help me.
For this to work we will need two things.
A small amount of support from a large number of people through the justgiving.com campaign.
A large amount of support from a very small number of people.
This will be in the form of experts experienced in doing particular things.
The JustGiving Campaign is fairly straight forward and going well but to work it needs to be seen by a large number of people.
This can only be done through a professional media campaign.
The second side to this will be the forming of a group of experts and professionals to help with the process. I am therefore asking for people to contact me with experience and skills in 3 following areas:
- Campaign Management.
- Legal Expertise.
- Business Expertise. Particularly from the Barbican or Plymouth.
I can be contacted via my email address firstname.lastname@example.org or my number is 07464 631671.
